You may have noticed -- or perhaps you will notice later -- a certain battle cry among the MASHEO faithful: "We are all Mad and Stupid!!!". This phrase, while sometimes confusing to those new to MASHEO, has a long and proud history. We embrace it because it gives us hope in seasons gone bad, it brings us closer when shippers seem rampant, and most importantly, we embrace this phrase . . . because it proves our point so perfectly.

True understanding of the phrase comes from its history:

Many, many months ago when MASHEO was still within its infancy, a small group of pioneer Noromos graced the discussion board. We were few, but happy. We laughed and we talked, and on occasion, we would receive a flame from a shipper and kindly refer them to the "About" section which explained MASHEO's humorous intent.

One day, however, we received the following post:

FROM: me Dana Scully who LOVES Mulder
SUBJECT: all of you are mad and stupid
TIME: Mon July 12 12:51:32 1999


YOU ARE CRAZY OR WHAT????!!!!! Mulder loves Scully and Scully loves Mulder.... all the world know that. GOD!!! Diana Bitch Fowley is a stupid lone "woman" who should be in prision.... well... MY GOD! I DON'T BELIEVE YOU'RE SO... THEY ARE IN LOVE THEY ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was too funny. We laughed too hard. Inside this one, nonsense message was every shipper stereotype ever known -- incomplete sentences, misspelling, hideous grammar, excessive punctuation, and no actual argument whatsoever. It was perfect. Even months later we found ourselves unable to forget this hilarious flame. It became a MASHEO trademark, and so, we took the "all of you are mad and stupid" subject heading as our own.
